Provide general labor support to skilled tradespeople and crews ensuring safe, productive work through material handling, site maintenance, and task assistance while developing construction skills and trade knowledge.
Job Description
- Assist skilled tradespeople with material handling, tool staging, and task support enabling crew productivity and efficient workflow
- Maintain safe and organized work areas including housekeeping, debris removal, and proper material storage ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Perform general labor tasks including demolition, site preparation, cleanup, and basic construction activities under foreman direction
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively following training and supervision from skilled workers
- Follow safety requirements including PPE use, fall protection, and hazard awareness achieving zero incidents and 100% compliance
- Learn construction methods and trade skills through observation, training, and hands-on experience developing toward skilled trade positions
- Maintain positive attitude and strong work ethic demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
Requirements
- Construction experience (0-2 years, entry-level position)
- Basic hand tool knowledge (hammer, saw, drill, level, tape measure)
- Physical stamina and strength (lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking all day, climbing, bending)
- Willingness to learn construction methods and trade skills
- Basic math skills (measurements, quantities, simple calculations)
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour certification (will be provided within 90 days if not already certified)
- Ability to pass drug test
